What to send for an accurate belt press quotation

The information that helps us prepare a relevant configuration and price.

The essential information

Send the belt material, construction, width and thickness. If the belt has a designation or data sheet, include it. For a press inquiry, provide the intended splice drawing and the power supply available at the site.

Define the scope

  • Equipment or component required.
  • Quantity of each item.
  • Belt and joint details, with a drawing if available.
  • Voltage, phase and frequency for electrical equipment.
  • Destination country and city or port.
  • Preferred delivery timing and any inspection requirements.

For replacement components

Include the existing manufacturer, model and part number. Provide overall photographs and close-ups of connections, plus measured dimensions. State whether you need an equivalent replacement or a different configuration.

For materials, tools and fasteners

Supply the item list and the belt application. Material inquiries should reference the approved splice specification. Fastener inquiries should include belt thickness and the smallest pulley diameter, where known.

What if some details are missing?

Send what you have and say which items are unknown. It is better to identify a missing dimension than to fill it with an estimate. We can discuss what else is needed to define the quotation.

This guide supports purchasing discussions. Model specifications and operating procedures must be confirmed in the applicable manufacturer documentation.

How to Compare PVC and PU Belt Press Quotations

A useful price comparison starts with the same belt and joint requirements. Send each supplier one written requirement sheet, then compare the proposed equipment and included items line by line.

1. Define one reference job

Record the belt manufacturer and code, PVC or PU construction, belt width, thickness and approved joint drawing. Include profiles or other features that could affect access. Ask suppliers to state whether their proposed configuration covers this job.

2. Compare usable working dimensions

Ask each supplier to identify the usable heating area and the joint dimensions it supports. Do not compare overall machine length with another quotation’s usable belt width. Mark each dimension on a drawing if the descriptions differ.

3. Itemise utilities and cooling

For each offer, record voltage, phase, frequency and the required site connections. For a water-cooled press, ask what cooling equipment, hoses and connectors are included and what must be provided at the workshop. Request any stated cycle time with its belt and utility conditions.

4. Separate included items from options

Comparison itemQuestion to resolve
Press and controlsWhich configuration and controller are included?
Cooling packageWhich circulation equipment and hoses are included?
Preparation toolsAre cutting or finger-preparation tools separate?
Electrical connectionsWhat cable and connection work is supplied?
DocumentationAre operating instructions and part identification provided?
Commercial termsWhat are the packing, freight, warranty and delivery terms?

5. Request evidence for your belt

If a trial joint is proposed, agree on the sample identification, joint preparation method and acceptance criteria before the trial. A general demonstration video helps show equipment handling; it does not by itself establish compatibility with your belt.

6. Compare delivery to the same destination

Australian buyers should give the same suburb, state and postcode to each supplier. Compare the same delivery scope and clarify exclusions, unloading arrangements and the basis of any estimated delivery date.

Before placing an order

Resolve blank or ambiguous lines in writing. Keep the final configuration, included items, drawings and agreed terms together with the quotation so the order can be checked against them.
