For a vulcanized rubber belt joint, discuss the press together with the splice dimensions, compatible materials and preparation tools. Belt width alone is not enough to select the heating area.

- Belt identification: rubber, PVC or PU; belt marking, reinforcement and strength designation if available.
- Dimensions: belt width, total thickness, intended splice length and joint drawing or photograph.
- Joint specification: the belt manufacturer’s approved method and process requirements.
- Site utilities: supply voltage, phase, frequency, and available cooling water where relevant.
- Working conditions: workshop or field use, access space, lifting restrictions, conveyed material and site requirements.
- Supply scope: press, materials, tools or spare parts; quantity, destination and required delivery date.

Common selection questions
Can I choose a press using only the belt width?
No. Include the splice length, joint geometry, belt construction and required process conditions. The usable heating area must be checked against the complete joint specification.
Can one material or tool kit cover every belt?
Do not assume interchangeability. Identify the belt construction and approved jointing system first, then confirm the materials and preparation tools required for that job.
What if I do not know which solution I need?
Send the belt marking, width, thickness, photographs and a description of the job to mac@running-machinery.com, or use the quotation form. Include any existing splice drawing or equipment nameplate.
